Meet Penny

Phoenix × Goose Puppy: Born 1/19/2026

Some puppies make you smile.

Some quietly work their way into your heart.

That's Penny.

There are dogs with big personalities that demand to be the center of attention.

Then there are dogs like Penny.

The ones who simply make life better by being part of it.

Penny is the kind of Golden Retriever who enjoys doing life alongside her people. Whether you're loading the car for a weekend adventure, working from home, taking an evening walk, or relaxing on the couch after a long day, she's happiest when she's included.

She has a calm, thoughtful nature that makes her incredibly easy to live with.

She doesn't feel the need to be constantly entertained or create her own excitement. She has a wonderful ability to settle, observe the world around her, and simply enjoy being wherever her family happens to be.

It's one of the qualities I admired most about her from a very young age.

Raised With Purpose

Penny is the daughter of Phoenix and Goose, two fully health-tested Golden Retrievers carefully selected for their health, temperament, and structure.

From the day she was born, every part of Penny's development has been intentional.

While many puppies leave for their new homes at eight weeks old, Penny has continued learning through carefully planned socialization, confidence-building, and professional training.

Over the past several months, she has confidently explored pet-friendly stores, veterinary clinics, assisted living facilities, parks, and countless everyday environments.

She has been introduced to shopping carts, children, loud noises, automatic doors, different flooring surfaces, elevators, grooming equipment, car rides, and the normal sights and sounds of everyday life.

These outings aren't about taking cute pictures.

Every experience is carefully chosen to help puppies build confidence, emotional resilience, and the ability to recover quickly from new situations.

The goal has never been to simply expose Penny to the world.

The goal has been to teach her how to navigate it.

A Puppy With a Strong Foundation

As a certified obedience trainer and certified service dog trainer, I believe puppyhood is one of the most important learning periods in a dog's life.

Penny has already been introduced to:

  • Sit

  • Down

  • Come

  • Leave It

  • Take It

  • Marker training

  • Loose leash foundations

  • Crate training

  • Potty training

  • Public manners

  • Grooming

  • Veterinary handling

More importantly than any individual command, Penny has learned how to think.

She approaches new situations with curiosity instead of fear, recovers quickly from distractions, and genuinely enjoys learning alongside her handler.

That foundation makes continuing her training at home far easier than starting with a puppy who has never experienced the world beyond their breeder's home.

Why Penny Is Different

When families ask why our older puppies are priced differently than an eight-week-old puppy, the answer isn't simply because they've had more time.

It's because of what that time has been filled with.

Hundreds of hours of intentional socialization.

Professional training.

Public outings.

Confidence-building.

Veterinary care.

Relationship building.

Problem solving.

Every experience has been designed to give Penny the strongest possible start before she ever joins her forever family.

You're not bringing home a puppy who's simply older.

You're bringing home a puppy who has already spent months preparing for the life she's about to share with you.

Is Penny the Right Fit?

Penny would thrive with someone who wants a true companion.

Someone who plans to include their dog in everyday life.

Whether that's morning coffee on the patio, weekend road trips, neighborhood walks, family movie nights, or simply having a faithful shadow nearby while folding laundry, Penny is happiest being part of whatever her people are doing.

She has the confidence to explore, the calmness to settle, and the affectionate personality that makes Golden Retrievers one of the world's most beloved breeds.

She doesn't just love people.

She genuinely enjoys being with them.
